На глубине 500 футов под поверхностью океана, американская атомная подводная лодка «Колорадо» получает приказ по радиоканалу, предназначенному для использования только в том случае, если их родина находится под угрозой уничтожения. Им приказывают нанести ядерный удар по Пакистану. Капитан Маркус Чаплин требует подтверждения приказа специально, чтобы Белый Дом отстранил его от должностных обязанностей. Старший помощник командира Сэм Кендал неожиданно становится ответственным за субмарину и сталкивается с тем, что ему нужно принять непростое решение. Здесь они найдут убежище и шанс на новую жизнь, даже когда они попытаются очистить свои имена и вернуться домой.
